Friar Tuck's Dundalk is the beginning of a new chapter in the growth and expansion of The Friar Tuck's chain. This restaurant is the first of a franchise. The franchisee is Mr John Boyle of Rostrevor origin and he owns Boyle Sports, which is currently one of Irelands fastest growing Bookmakers.

Like the Downey family, Mr Boyle has created his successful business portfolio through hard work and the association of a family element and a close personal involvement in the business. With this in mind John's daughter, Jenna who will keep a close eye on the daily operations of the individual restaurant will manage the franchise. A key factor in the success of the business, and which it shares with the Downey brothers is how they value their staff and customers. Without the front line staff the interface between customer and the service provided is lost, and after all it is the customer that determines how successful the business will be.

The Dundalk shop opened in late December 2006, and has proven to be a hit with the locals of Dundalk and indeed farther a field. Customers can still benefit from enjoying the high quality menu that many of our customers have been accustomed to over the years and also some new treats are available for you to "tuck in" to.
